Head of Business Development (m/f/d)
Location: Munich, Germany (relocation support available)
A well-established, mid-sized regulatory consulting company with over 20 years of experience supporting global drug and medical device development is seeking a Head of Business Development. The company works with clients across Europe, North America, and Asia and is recognized for delivering expert guidance on complex and innovative development projects.
This is a permanent, senior leadership role with a clear primary focus on client acquisition, revenue growth, and expanding the company’s global client base.
You will own and drive the company’s business development strategy with a strong emphasis on identifying, acquiring, and building long-term relationships with new clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors across the EU, US, and Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global business development strategy aligned with corporate goals.
- Primary focus: Identification and acquisition of new clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and research institutions.
- Identify and implement new client-focused service opportunities in collaboration with internal experts.
- Represent the company at international conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support and enable business initiatives.
- Report business development performance directly to senior management.
- Regular international travel to meet partners and expand global presence.
- University degree in Life Sciences (advanced degree preferred).
- 8–10+ years of experience in pharma/biotech drug development with solid understanding of regulatory processes.
- Proven, demonstrable track record in client acquisition for pharmaceutical service providers.
- Strong external presence and experience representing companies in the industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Highly self-driven with strong prioritization abilities.
- Fluent in English (German is a plus, not mandatory).
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
- Must be based in Munich, Germany (relocation support can be provided).
