Established in 1971, we’re celebrating 55 years of supporting scientific innovation across the life sciences and chemical industries through specialist expertise, leadership and workforce solutions.
This year marks a special milestone for Talentmark as we celebrate our 55th anniversary and more than five decades of supporting scientific and medical progress through specialist workforce solutions.
Our story began in 1971, when Talentmark Executive became the first executive search business to specialise exclusively in the life sciences industry. Since then, we’ve grown into a global workforce solutions partner supporting the life sciences and chemical industries.
55 Years of Impact
Over the past 55 years, we’ve contributed to significant advances in science and medicine by providing the specialist workforce capabilities and leadership behind pioneering developments across the life sciences industry.
Some of the achievements we’re proud to have contributed to include:
- Bristol Myers Squibb: Cancer immunotherapy: Building development, medical and commercial capabilities to support the highly successful 2011 launch of ipilimumab, the first approved immune checkpoint inhibitor that helped make cancer immunotherapy mainstream.
- BioNTech: COVID-19 vaccine development: Supporting BioNTech across legal, safety, development and manufacturing functions to help bring Comirnaty, the highest-selling COVID-19 vaccine, to market in under a year in 2020. The underlying science won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman.
- Capstan Therapeutics: Advanced cell therapies: Continuing our work with Drew Weissman and Christian Homsy to help build the Board and executive leadership team of Capstan Therapeutics, which developed a pioneering platform to generate CAR-T cells directly within the body (in vivo), rather than in a laboratory, offering significant advantages for patients.
- GSK: Salford Lung Study: Acting as the sole provider of 250 specialist research staff for GSK’s landmark Salford Lung Study, the world’s first real-world evidence study of its kind. We were responsible not only for providing the staff but also for their ongoing management, including performance management, throughout the project. The study helped transform how medicines are evaluated by demonstrating their effectiveness in everyday clinical practice.
These examples demonstrate our contribution to scientific and medical progress through the expertise, leadership and workforce capabilities we provide.
