Talentmark are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician - Biology Automation to join a pioneering drug discovery and technology company who are based near Didcot on a permanent basis.

Location:

The role is based near Didcot and is site based.

Role:

  • Enable the seamless operation of automated biology platforms by maintaining the flow of materials, reagents, and data across systems.
  • Barcode consumables and maintain accurate records, restock labware and reagents across automated systems and manage inventory and reorder consumables.
  • Receive and distribute materials from stores and transport assay materials and compounds between teams.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automation systems, responding to errors and support hardware maintenance and troubleshooting for automated systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness of automation space and equipment.
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, media, stock solutions and aliquots and support automated assay execution.
  • Support biochemical and cell-based assay workflows.
  • Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines.
  • Perform QC testing and data recording.
  • Manage hazardous waste in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist with freezer maintenance and liquid nitrogen refills.

Your Background:

  • Educated to degree level in Biology, Biological Sciences or a related field.
  • Experience working in a similar Biology laboratory

  • Familiarity with biochemical or cell-based assays
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs

  • Experience with pipetting, buffer preparation, and basic lab techniques.
  • Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with laboratory automation platforms and familiarity with inventory and laboratory management systems.
